TESCO Clonmel have been very gracious in nominating C.A.R.E. Cancer Support Centre as one of the beneficiaries of their Blue Token Community Fund Initiative and we were delighted to have been presented with a cheque for €598.00 from the event. We are very grateful to TESCO for this opportunity and to everyone who thought of us during the campaign. Your support for this fundraiser was very much appreciated.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the LCVP Class from the Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel for organizing a very successful fundraiser for CARE Cancer Support Centre. The 5th Year students put together a Pres Got Talent show and a bake sale with the proceeds going to our Centre. The amount raised was €425.00 which is amazing and for which we are very grateful. Thank you to Ms O’Dwyer for her support and to the students themselves who put so much time and effort into the event. The presentation of the cheque took place in the school on Friday the 15th November where representatives from the Centre were on hand to give the students some background into how we operate and how much we appreciate such a kind gesture as fundraising and donations are the mainstay of our financing. They showed great interest into how a charity such as ours carries out it’s work and the discussion proved to be very informative and enlightening. We were made to feel very welcome and the Presentation Secondary School can be very proud of their LCVP Class for showing such great initiative. Many thanks again to all involved.

C.A.R.E.

Cancer Support Centre, Clonmel

C.A.R.E. Cancer Support Centre Clonmel would like to thank most sincerely everyone who made our recent Gala Lunch such a resounding success. With this being our first such event in almost six years we were hoping that it would be a memorable and enjoyable occasion. Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers and helpers who worked tirelessly for weeks in advance, the whole event came together in a seamless manner on the day. From the moment you entered the Talbot Hotel Foyer the atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting. We owe huge debt of gratitude to the 5th Year Students from Loreto Secondary School, Anna Mai, Doireann, Kate and Tara who provided some beautiful music and singing at our welcome reception. They performed beautifully, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. They represented their school with great enthusiasm and pride. Thank you to their teacher, Patricia O’Mahoney, for organising this for us. Our MC for the day, Breda Kavanagh, welcomed everyone on behalf of CARE and outlined the importance of these fundraising events in order to maintain the vital services that our Centre provides for people and their families who are affected by cancer. She gave a brief outline of the history of the Centre and how it has evolved in line with the needs of the community over the years. Chairman, Paddy Derivan, paid tribute to the staff and to all of the volunteers who give so much of their time in an unselfish and caring manner, be it as a trustee or as a complimentary therapist, and without whom the centre not operate. Their contribution to CARE is immeasurable. Paddy went on to thank everyone who made the event possible either by making a very generous donation or by sponsoring one of the many beautiful spot prizes which were distributed during the raffle. We cannot thank all our sponsors enough for making the event so special. A full list of all our sponsors was on display during the day throughout the venue and Paddy actively encouraged all present, in turn, to support these local businesses as much as possible. The events team at the Talbot Hotel, under the guidance of Laura, went above and beyond in making the event such a success. Their attention to detail and the service provided was a credit to all concerned and for this we are very grateful. Feedback after the event from all present was very positive indeed and already plans are under way for next year. To all our guests present on the day we say thank you for your attendance and support and we look forward to welcoming you all back again in 2026.
